About the Course:

I remember what it felt like to step into a home and felt that pit in my stomach wondering if I had enough ideas, if the space would work, or if I’d be able to create something meaningful at all. Over time, that feeling can turn into burnout. Not because you don’t care, but because the images you’re creating don’t quite match what you know you’re capable of. It starts to feel forced, repetitive, or just… off. That’s exactly why I created this course.  To help you understand light in challenging spaces, how to read a moment as it’s unfolding, and how to create images that actually feel like something again.  Once you see it differently, everything changes, and you feel confident and excited to create again. Designed by a former teacher with a Masters in Education, this course takes you behind the scenes of how I tell my clients’ stories during indoor sessions, using light as my guide to shape emotion and connection. Featuring two Motherhood Sessions and one Newborn Session, you'll go behind the scenes with me as I mentor other photographers, giving you the opportunity to not only see what I do, but to hear the 'why' behind every decision I make.  Through interview-style lessons, I’ll walk you through key concepts, answer commonly asked questions, and break down my approach in a way that feels both practical and easily digestible. You’ll also receive thoughtfully created PDFs to support your growth and help you confidently apply what you learn right away. Meet the Instructor

I'm Dominique, owner of Grace Mae Photography and drawn to the quiet, in-between moments that often go unnoticed but hold the most meaning. Before starting my photography journey, I spent 7 years in the classroom and hold a Masters in Education.  It is my greatest blessing being able to blend my love for teaching with my passion for photography.  My background as a teacher shapes everything inside this course.  It's not just a collection of pretty videos or surface-level inspiration.  I built every lesson with intention so you're not just watching what I do, you're actually learning the 'why' behind every decision I make. My work is rooted in turning ordinary moments into visual poetry by using light and connections.  Rather than over-directing, I guide with intention, creating space for something honest and real to emerge. Through both my client work and teaching, I’m passionate about helping others slow down, see differently, and create images that feel as meaningful as they look.

This is for you if… You feel like your work has started to look the same and you’re craving something deeper.  You want to create images that feel emotional and intentional, and not overly posed. You’re drawn to real, in-between moments but aren’t always sure how to capture them. You want to understand why you’re making certain decisions, not just be told what to do. You’re ready to slow down, observe, and create with more purpose. This is not for you if… You’re looking for rigid posing prompts or step-by-step formulas. You want quick fixes or “copy and paste” techniques. You prefer heavily styled, perfectly polished images over real, lived-in moments. You do not need to be advanced, but should be comfortable shooting in manual mode.
